ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilize office technology to include but not limited to: BSIP, TIMS, PowerSchool, Synovia, Safety Vision, FSI
- Responsible for providing transportation office assistance but not limited to: filing, processing mail, phone calls, two-way bus radios, school assistance
- Responsible for the weekly check of camera systems on each bus in the ABSS fleet
- Responsible for troubleshooting and repairing inoperable camera systems
- Responsible for Synovia operating systems and inventory
- Assist Transportation Administration with reoccurring and annual projects and the TIMS department with bus routing
- Any other duties assigned by the Director or Assistant Director of Transportation
JOB EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a valid CDL with P&S endorsements or willing to obtain a CDL with P&S endorsements within 90 days
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be current ABSS Bus Coordinator
- Must have experience in using office technology and computer systems
- Strives to maintain professional, cooperative and respectful relationships with all district employees, parents, students and the general public
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and be cooperative, congenial, service oriented and a team player along with the ability to work with frequent interruptions and under sometimes stressful conditions
- Must have the ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task, communicate clearly and
- effectively, work independently, exercise good judgement and follow written and verbal directions
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Considerable knowledge of safe and efficient practices and procedures used in the operation of a school bus
- Considerable knowledge of traffic laws and school bus regulations
- Considerable knowledge of safety regulations and standards for school buses
- General knowledge of Transportation Department Operating Instructions
- Ability to physically inspect the bus according to Transportation Department Operating Instructions
- Ability to detect and report observable mechanical defects or failures on the school bus
- Ability to maintain discipline of students assigned to ride the school bus
- Ability to maintain a clean school bus
- Ability to complete required reports
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in applying standards to a variety of work situations
- Ability to exercise tact and courtesy in contact with parents/guardians or students and with school personnel
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
|
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. Some bending, lifting, and twisting of body required. Ability to lift/carry 50+ lbs. Visual and audio acuity including ability to read computer screens and written documents. Ability to use the telephone and two-way radio; and speak clearly and distinctly.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
|
Employees in this position are required to work in indoor and outdoor environments – flexible working environment conductive to changing temperatures and working locations (office, vehicle, outside); and come into direct contact with ABSS staff, students and the public.
